GENERAL PLANNING NOTICES


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to RCW 36.70A.290 that the Board of County Commissioners of Benton County Washington did adopt on May 1, 2018, Ordinance 604 & Resolution 2018-317, adding definitions for “designated Provider, Marijuana, Marijuana Concentrates, Marijuana-Infused Products, Marijuana Processing, Marijuana Production, Marijuana Products, Marijuana Retail Sales, Medical Use of Marijuana and Qualifying Patient” and Ordinance 605 and Resolution 2018-318 relating to zoning and allowable uses in the Rural Lands 5 acre zoning to delete the words “and marijuana production” and Ordinance 606 and Resolution 2018-319 relating to prohibition of marijuana retail sales and amending conforming uses regarding marijuana production.

MAY 21, 2018 AGENDA

CUP 2018-001: Applicant Matthew Mahany is proposing a business to service, install & deliver water softeners at 11108 Cottonwood Drive Kennewick in Section 10, Township 08 North, Range 28 East, W.M. The date of the written determination of completeness on this action is March 22, 2018. 

CUP 2018-002: Applicants Lauriano Garcia & Jose Ramirez are proposing to run an event center for weddings, receptions and other special events with a small farm animal petting zoo area at 41807 S. Finley Road in Kennewick in Section 26, Township 08 North, Range 30 East, W.M. The date of the written determination of completeness on this action is April 11, 2018. 

CUP 2018-003 (EA 2018-008): Applicant Central Washington Asphalt is proposing to run a commercial gravel pit/mining operation and a portable asphalt batch plant in the Northeast ¼ of Section 35, Township 8, Range 28 East, W.M.  The date of the written determination of completeness on this action is April 11, 2018. 

CUP 2018-004 (EA 2018-006): Applicant JMAC Resources, Inc. is proposing to run a top soil and basalt quarry for commercial mineral extraction at 39505 S Amon Road in Section 30, Township 8 North, Range 29 East, W.M. The date of the written determination of completeness on this action is March 16, 2018. 

VAR 2018-001: The applicant, APC Services/Ira Hickman, is requesting a variance of 25’ to the required 25’ setback from the drainfield access easement on the west boundary line of lot 21, allowing a structure to be built abutting the easement. The date of the written determination of completeness on this action is April 30, 2018.  The site is located in Section 5, Township 8 North, Range 28 East, W.M. and is legally described as The Ridge at Reata West Phase 4, Lot 21.

BENTON COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS


The Board of County Commissioners on February 13, 2018 approved the adoption of the 2017 Comprehensive Plan Periodic Update.   Please note that the decision by the Board of County Commissioners can be appealed in accordance with applicable state and local laws.

BOUNDARY REVIEW BOARD


If needed, the Boundary Review Board meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Public Hearing Room, Benton County Planning Annex, 1002 Dudley Avenue, Prosser WA.  More information about the Boundary Review Board can be found here
